We all had a lovely time at the statue and it was great to see that people had made the pilgrimage despite the fact that there was not an official gathering. Quite a few flowers were already there from fans who went along on the Saturday.

Albie was unable to join us due to his continuing poor health but sends his love to everyone.

It was a treat to see Marie, Jean and Marguerite and her lovely husband Ray along with Barbara and young Georgina also Di and Ann who were thrilled to see that the beautiful Christmas wreath they had made was there and still looking very good.

We tied our flowers together and then to the statue as there was a very strong wind blowing. Jean was very touched by the flowers, poems and messages to Billy 25 years after his untimely death and sends her love and thanks to all his fans who paid tribute to him both in Liverpool and Mill Hill where Margaret Dewick was present to leave flowers.

We were very well looked after by the museum staff, they arranged a parking permit so that Jean Wycherley didn't have to walk too far. When we decided to have a drink and snack in the Maritime Museum Cafe, Ian, one of the security guards re-organised tables for us.

Later, Jean W, Di, Ann, my hubby John and I went up to the 2nd floor of the museum where there's an exhibition 'Magical History Tour' and a video screen showing Liverpool's musical and stage stars. There was also an array of small screens. Billy is featured much to the delight of his mum and all of us. There will be another exhibit in the new museum of Liverpool Life on its completion where Billy's first guitar, jottings of song words and photos will be featured.
