In the autumn of 2005 Billy's mum launched this appeal in recognition of Billy's love of children and the popularity of his song 'Nobody's Child'. It is her wish to give a donation to children in Liverpool to provide a little extra happiness at Christmas time each year.
Just before Christmas 2006, Jean Wycherley and Jenny Warwick visited St Gabriel's children's home in Liverpool presenting them with a cheque for £250 on behalf of 'Nobody's Child Appeal'. Jean also donated her three piece suite, which was bought by and often sat upon by Billy. She also gave a video player and television. The staff were extremely peased with the donations which will benefit all of the children.
After the visit they went on to Alder Hey hospital where they were welcomed by staff who were delighted to meet Billy Fury's mum and accept three large sacks of toys. All these brand new toys had been donated by Billy's fans and will have made several poorly children's Christmas that little bit happier.
Thankyou to all who made donations during 2006 to enable us to help a few children in Liverpool in Billy's name. We will continue to raise funds for the appeal and other charities and welcome any contributions during this year.

St Gabriel's children's home was set up by nuns as an orphanage for boys. It was subsequently taken over by Liverpool Social Services where it served as a long and short term home for children whose families are experiencing difficulties. The accomodation was in a new building whilst retired nuns still live in the main house. The old orphanage is still standing next to the house but isn't used any longer.
The letter on the right is from one of the former residents expressing her gratitude for the support and kindness she received there. The name has been removed to protect the person's privacy.
WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT ST GABRIEL'S CLOSED DURING 2007
