BILLY THE MAN
I first saw Billy in the Larry Parnes Extravaganza when I was fifteen. I was so lucky to have gone on to see him perform live and to meet and chat to him on numerous occasions. He was always so lovely and kind with me and and over the years we got to know each other well.
Born at the end of the 40's my favourite music was and still has to be early 60's rock and roll.

A sentimentalist at heart I loved dreamy ballads and soon became hooked on Billy's music but when groups started to dominate, my music interests dwindled until seeing 'The Billy Fury Experience' six years ago. After watching the show I became a born again Billy fan.
I have been a Billy Fury fan since the age of ten when I saw him on 'Oh Boy'.
That was to have an effect on me throughout the rest of my life. I went to see him in as many concerts as I could and belonged to his first fan club.

Billy's music and my love for him have got me through the low times in my life.
I owe him so much and feel that by looking after his farm (Jenny bought Billy's farm several years ago) and helping to run the fan club, I am in some small way giving something back.
I feel honoured to have been asked by Jean and Albie to design and run the website for the Billy Fury In Thoughts Of You Fan Club. I am confident that this fan club will flourish with the full involvement of Billy's fans and family.
I look forward with your support to making this a great club and to keeping Billy's music alive for many years to come.
pulled off the stage by some over-enthusiastic fans and was on the front page of the newspapers next day. The fan club also put on a party for his birthday in 1962 and my sister and I ended up with the huge board Billy's cake was on and he signed it. We still have it (click here for more).
I presented Billy with a teddy bear on stage at the Portsmouth Guildhall, he was a lovely person.

I feel privileged to have been invited to join the admin team and I will do all I can to keep Billy's memory alive. I'm a fan for life.
